TAMIL..NATIONALITY QUESTION

--

Com.Joseph Stalin's thesis on Nationality question is the reference for all genuine communists.

Joseph Stalin wrote his seminal work on the nationality question, titled Marxism and the National Question (originally published as "The National Question and Social-Democracy"), at the end of 1912 and the beginning of 1913.

Location: He wrote the piece while living in Vienna, Austria.

Publication: It was first published in the Bolshevik monthly journal Prosveshcheniye (Enlightenment) in 1913.

Purpose: The essay outlined the Marxist definition of a nation and defined the party's policy on national self-determination.

Following this work, Stalin was recognized as an expert on the topic and later became the first People's Commissar for Nationalities in 1917

To quote Com. STALIN,

(Please read this in the context of indian independence movement, particularly in the then  bengal, bombay and madras presidency).

...................

Here com.Stalin is talking about the  period in czarist russia from 1906 to  the march and october revolutions of 1917.  (RSR)

The "constitutional regime" established at that time also acted in the same direction of awakening the nationalities.

The spread of newspapers and of literature generally, a certain freedom of the press and cultural institutions, an increase in the number of national theatres, and so forth, all unquestionably helped to strengthen "national sentiments."

The Duma, with its election campaign and political groups, gave fresh opportunities for greater activity of the nations and provided a new and wide arena for their mobilization.

And the mounting wave of militant nationalism above and the series of repressive measures taken by the "powers that be" in vengeance on the border regions for their "love of freedom," evoked an answering wave of nationalism below, which at times took the form of crude chauvinism.

The spread of Zionism  among the Jews, the increase of chauvinism in Poland, Pan-Islamism among the Tatars, the spread of nationalism among the Armenians, Georgians and Ukrainians, the general swing of the philistine towards anti-Semitism – all these are generally known facts.

A nation is a historically constituted, stable community of people, formed on the basis of a common language, territory, economic life, and psychological make-up manifested in a common culture.

one must take into consideration the specific spiritual complexion of the people constituting a nation.

Nations differ not only in their conditions of life, but also in spiritual complexion, which manifests itself in peculiarities of national culture.

Of course, by itself, psychological make-up or, as it is otherwise called, "national character," is something intangible for the observer, but in so far as it manifests itself in a distinctive culture common to the nation it is something tangible and cannot be ignored.

Needless to say, "national character" is not a thing that is fixed once and for all, but is modified by changes in the conditions of life; but since it exists at every given moment, it leaves its impress on the physiognomy of the nation.

Thus, a common psychological make-up, which manifests itself in a common culture, is one of the characteristic features of

It goes without saying that a nation, like every historical phenomenon, is subject to the law of change, has its history, its beginning and end.

It must be emphasized that none of the above characteristics taken separately is sufficient to define a nation. More than that, it is sufficient for a single one of these characteristics to be lacking and the nation ceases to be a nation

Apparently, there is a case for Tamil separatism.

But a very close reading of Stalin's thesis , does give a fine and subtle argument that in some rare cases, LANGUAGE ALONE is not the basis for nationality.

I have highlighted.

Have you noticed?

Forget for a moment, islam which came to northwest india in 1300 ad only.

From ancient times, worship of mother goddess is common all over india from far south kerala to far east bengal.

Tamil country has ever been psychologically tied to the north...right from 500 BC.

And to indus valley from 3000 BC.

.

All the languages in India are derived from praakrutham, a popular version of Sanskrit,

Except tamil

Even singalese is derived from sanskrit.

.

This uniqueness of tamil is not sufficient reason .. to stand away from the rest of India...

it is even possible that tamil kings themselves were from delhi region.

(Puranaanuru)..

Something unites all indians,

A punjabi, a bengali, a marathi, ..the appearance, culture, beliefs, food habits and so on .

In fact, we can see striking semblance even in pakisthan.

..

My observation is that there are common features in appearance, eyes, hair color, facial profile, values, dress code,

on a social class basis which cuts across language difference.

There is not much difference between a bengali lady and maratta or rajput, kannada, telugu lady and even a sinhalese or sindhi lady...if they belong to the same social strata.

That unifying factor is perhaps, cultural, for which

Com. Stalin has made an allowance.

Secondly, Marx himself, differentiated progressive nationalist movements and reactionary nationalist movements. (Ex).Irish movement supported by Marx. He supported German unification.

Opposed polish nationalism.

.

Separatist movements in any of the countries of collective west should be supported.

But in colonies , neo colonies and emerging third world countries, the criterion is its anti imperialist stance and actions.

Com. Stalin in fact wanted ceylon to be merged with Indian republic in his interview to Dr.Radhakrishnan, who was Indian ambassador to USSR.

just before India became a republic.

.

As a thumbrule, separatist movements in thirdworld countries are reactionary.

Bangladesh war of 1971 was progressive because it was anti USA.

.

Communists are basically wrong in underestimating INDIAN nationalism and understanding it.

 They misunderstand Hinduusm as Manudharmam.

There lies their decay and decline and impending demise very soon.

.

Wake up.

Build a true stalinist party based on Indian natiinalism firmly against the collective west and its tacit ally, islamic jehadism..

.

Comrade Stalin invoked both

Russian Orthodox Church and Russian Nationalism built on that church., in the great anti nazi second world war.

Chinese communist party won because they were in the forefront

Of anti japanese patriotic war.

Vietnam communist party won on anti french and anti american

National liberation movement.

The role of vietnam buddhist monks is legendary.
